Just spent a few hours trying to get the US Post Office mail for our street in operation. Mail truck (new driver) tried to deliver an order to my back door. He got stuck up around the 400 foot mark on the driveway. Check the pictures.
Can't make the Nutmeg BOD meetings I'm afraid .. Tow truck couldn't get more than a couple hundred feet up the driveway. So had to destroy my front lawn trying to find a spot (finally on a large rock ledge) where he could anchor his tow truck and run a 200 foot plus winch line to the stuck post office truck.
What a mess they made of my driveway. I will be fixing a large stretch of the front lawn, and all of the driveway for weeks. There is no way I can get the car down the driveway any time soon. Yesterday a "NEW" UPS truck driver also got stuck ... but after an hour got going. He also was a "new" driver unfamiliar with our driveway. Our regular guys know enough to not use the driveway during the Spring thaw ..
So it's now a few hours later and the tow truck and US Mail truck are finally gone ... Don't know what or how I'm going to be able to fix the driveway .. Sigh ...
