I'm always looking for something better. In this case I was looking for better rig control software. Not saying this is better than what I currently use, but it has promise. GBCAT is a free (currently) rig control application that supports some Kenwood, Icom and Yaesu transceivers; http://www.9a2gb.net/download-gbcat-comp...ansceiver/.

If you download it and email the developer he will send you a life time registration key free of charge.

With my rig it works well with reading the settings, not so well with setting functions. The one feature I do like is the memory manager, making it easy to manipulate stored memory settings in the rig.

How does it work with a logging program? Most also provide some level of rig control.

At this point it's just software for controlling the rig, so a logging program it's not. Perhaps in the future the developer will add more features.

Somewhat like the Kenwood program they sell, just a controller and not a logging program. I haven't figured out a way for software to share com ports on Win7, as they would be ideal. In JT75 mode I use the JT software and I have to turn off any other rig controlling software else nothing works.
