A DXpedition to Eritrea, (pronounced Air-Uh-Tee-Uh), is underway and will be operational until March 17th, 2015.

A multi-national team of operators are will be working 160 through 10 meters on SSB, CW and RTTY. They are using Kenwood and Elecraft transceivers and ACOM 1010 Amps. Antennas are beams and verticals. They had good signals on 10, 12 and 15 meters today.

Their webpage is http://eritreaproject.net/

E30FB is operating RTTY on 15 meters but their operation is "not standard".

They are TRANSMITTING reverse mark/space but RECEIVING normal RTTY.

You will need to transmit as you normally do but tune their receive signal reversed. I am not quite sure how to do this if you are transmitting AFSK, but if you are using a rig that has FSK and are using the EXTFSK Utility then set your rig to to transmit FSK USB, tune to E30FB's transmit signal, go split at least 2 up, (he works to about 10 up), and UNCHECK the Rev FSK box in EXTFSK. This will give you standard RTTY XMIT with reverse receive.

This works as I was able to work him today on RTTY, (but the pileups are deep), so be prepared to sit awhile.

This is the first operation I've see that was doing RTTY this way. I don't know if they just didn't set the FSK up right or there is rhyme or reason for this.
