The Stillwater (MN) Amateur Radio Association (SARA) will be operating to commemorate the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald Friday Oct 30th to Sunday Nov 1st. Using the club’s call sign, WØJH (070 #1905), ~20 SARA members will operate from Split Rock Lighthouse State Park (ARLHS USA 783) in Lake County, MN. This year marks the 40th anniversary of ship’s mysterious sinking and our eleventh year of operating this Special Event.

WØJH Operating Schedule
Friday, Oct. 30 (Setup starting around 1:00 PM CDT) with operation from ~3:00-5:30 PM (2000 to 2230 hrs UTC)
Saturday, Oct. 31 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM CDT (1500 to 2300 UTC)
Sunday, Nov. 1 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST (1600 to 0000 UTC)

Frequencies of Operation
SSB: 3.860, 7.260, 14.260, 21.360, 28.360 MHz (+/- QRM)
PSK31: 3,580, 7.070, 14.070, 21.070

Ironic, most people dont correlate the fate of the Edmund Fitzgerald with "still water."

Another Fitzgerald special event station, W0I, was also operating a few Khz lower.
I've read the story on the Edmund Fitzgerald. 'Experts' indicate she broke up on the surface. An interesting and haunting tale.
