Well I had "ants in my pants" for not being on the radio for so long I had to try something. Chatted with a few of the locals and surprised myself with some of the stuff I did work.

K2SZ had a strong 5x5 signal for a few hours steady Sunday morning. I heard K1WHS up in Maine a number of time this weekend on both SSB and CW. Our contact was minimal when I worked him, I hope he heard me a log me. I know there was a lot of repeating my Locator at least on my part. His signal was stronger Sunday at times.

Dan K1BXC was 57. I heard number of other stations weakly that I could not work or get their calls though there was one from NJ who heard my "PI" a number of times but we did not work.

Tomorrow the parts come back from Fluid Motion and I'll start to put the station back together. I hope to be fully operational by the weekend.

Here's the small log I sent in.

END-OF-LOG:
Can't remember when I had last worked a VHF contest due to lack of transmitting gear; probably 40 years ago. Recently added a FT-991 HF+VHF+UHF rig and am satisfied. Small rig but well equipped and I quickly adapted to its touch screen features and only a few knobs.

On 2 meters worked from Maine down to Virginia (and in between) with an 8 element yagi. With only a vertical on 6 meters, I still managed to get Florida and Gulf coast to Missouri and Illinois. Using the 2 meter yagi, I worked NY on 432 (kind of an empty band except for pre-arrangements).

Only a total of 30 or so QSOs. Not being a contester, I only spent a few hours on, here and there.
Was away on a fishing trip most of the weekend. Did manage to get on the air for a couple of hours Sunday night. Fortunately the band was in pretty good shape so I made some nice contacts.

I managed to work into Arizona and New Mexico. Also heard Spain but didn't work him.
