W1N Fianl Results - N1API - 10-15-2022 Please summarize your final results for W1N by replying to this message. Don't forget to email your logs to KC1SA by Friday October 21st. Lets see how you all did. RE: W1N Fianl Results - N1API - 10-15-2022 I think of all the club's one the air events over the years I enjoyed this one the most. I had a ball putting the W1N call on the air and made some amazing contacts. Once it all started I set a goal for myself of 1000 Qs, I met that and then some. I have not done 1000 Qs since the early days of contesting, (and I did THAT on paper!). This may be the highest number of Qs that I've done for a event. Of course it was over a 2 week period but still I learned a lot about trying to both do the special event and follow our County Hunters going to and from Bozeman, MT plus other mobiles doing individual trips to put out counties to VA, NC, and most of the Pacific time zone running both SSB and CW. I was using the FT5000 for the digital and using the 857D for SSB and CW at times and it was "challenge". It seemed like the stations were lined up and waiting for a contact once I got on the air. The best band was 20 meters but you can see by the totals they all did well, even 40 meters. The DX loved it, whether for the grid, call, state or whatever they just could not get enough and I worked quite a few on multiple bands. I did not do DXCC but I think I may have done WAS. Here is the summary from N1MM. N1MM treats a DXpedition like a contest, I would not mind a score like this in all my contests! Bands worked were 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 10m. Farthest likely Japan. I used 100 watts. I tried to work at about 35 kHz form the lower band edge, this to accomodate Generals and Techs. Normally, I work in the first 25kHz. I sent CQ at 16-18 WPM and replied at 10 to 25 WPM depending on the caller's fist. So, it went much slower than the usual contest or DX-pedition. |
