Packet Cluster - K1RCT - 10-30-2014

Which packet cluster do you use on the N1MM telnet?

I've been using the GB7 cluster but after Dave's Presentation, I want to switch to Zone 1 Clusters.

I use K1RK, but sometime it goes down as it is located on a mountain top and needs have someone go up there if there is a hardware problem. That one is located in Woods Hole MA it is I would say 95% reliable. There is also K1EU in Maine that is pretty reliable. K1TTT also is pretty good but that one seems to have to much data sometime. I've also used K2CAN-2 in a pinch.

You can look over the different clusters by downloading a program like RXCLUS. It is a desktop program where you can connect to the Telnet Clusters and watch the spots live. You can check out any one of thousands of different clusters. If you register on one your info gets populated through the system and may clusters will know you if you check in. You may have to set your location and grid on different clusters but the ones in the same net will know you by name.

Good thing about have a cluster running on either your radio computer or desktop is you can set it to notify you when something you need gets spotted. And you don't have to go to a web page to get the spots they come to you.
