Interesting Photo Of The Sun From Hawaii - N1API - 01-16-2016

Here is an interesting photo of the sun taken through the "vog" in Hawaii.
"Vog" is like smog but made up of volcanic gasses and particles from the Big Island of Hawaii down south.

If you look closely you can actually see two sun spot groups. in the lower right hand quadrant of the sun.

All I have to say is even though they seem small they much be pretty big to be visible to naked eye!

Enjoy

Here is the text from SolarHam.com with the details of that photo.

Attached is a fantastic image courtesy of Alex Dzierba in Hawaii capturing sunspots 2480 and 2483. "The sun setting over Mamala Bay on the east side of Honolulu. You can see sunspots AR2480 and AR2483! There was a thick layer of vog this evening, which is like smog, but made up of volcanic gases and particles from the Big Island of Hawaii, down south. The vog made for some interesting colors, and perhaps made it easier to see the sunspots."
