So, the weekend starts off with N1MM driving me nutz. Normally when you log a stations and you have the bandmap window open and you work a station the call turns gray to show that you've worked him and when you run up and down the band you don't need to check there again. Well for some reason the call disappears from the bandmap. Calls that you discover and work don't go into the bandmap. If you try to stOre a call in the band map that you worked it still does not go in there. I did find out that if you roll over a worked call that has been spotted is shows in the "precall" area of the main entry screen. I thought that maybe there was a "switch" that had changed in the configuration but I could not find one. I did send in a bug report, let's see what they say.

Well I guess you can see how the bands were. HOT HOT HOT! 10 meters was amazing! I played this one a little differently. Thanks to Dave's N1MM demo, I use the "Available Multis and Q's Window" for the first time. I usually search and pounce by going down and up, (yes I usually start from the top and work down, less competition up on top), and hit the green or red calls for the multis. I did this for most of the weekend up to about the last couple of hours of the contest when the multis were running out, (worked them to zero on 20 meters, the other bands were multis that I could not hear or were bogus).

It seemed to me that there was more Africa, Asia and Pacific then I usually see. Many I worked two and three bands. One which I was glad that I worked on 3 bands was the 3B8MU, I need that on 15 and 20 meters. He's number 312 on 20 meters and was on my 20 meter "hit list" I hope he uploads to LBOTW.

All in all a pretty good weekend. Wonder if 10 meters will hold up for the contest in two weeks? Only time will tell.

Hope you all had some time on the air this weekend. If you did don't forget to credit Meriden ARC with you contest score as the club score. Let's see if we can get our name in lights!

This is a copy of my YCCC post. As I said before you guys did great low power.

To all:

Lot's of action with good to great conditions from 80-10 meters. I found 160 to still be in the dumpster, but

that's the way it should be at the peak of a sunspot cycle.

I spent way too much time on top band hoping for more DX.

I did have 2 visits from a Chinese Irishman "Mr. Fookin Murphy" during the weekend.

Once he thought it would be funny to stop my rotor when it was pointed south. I'm glad I know the fix for that from the shack

His second visit occurred on 20 meters when he would randomly lock my amp in transmit.

Until I found out that my keying line was picking up RF I operated at 100 watts for a couple of hours.

I have never had an RF problem like that before with the VL1000.

19 hrs in the chair - 17 high power, 2 low power.

100% S&P, Ditmore method. I'm still in therapy.

He is my log:
