K5P Palmyra Atoll DXpedition Jan. 12th to 25th
#1

The first major DXpedition of the year is set to kick off on January 12, 2016 from Palmyra Atoll using the cal K5P.

A team of 9 US operators plan to activate this DX entity from January 12th 2016 to January 25th 2016. They will be active on all HF bands with SteppIR Verticals on SSB, CW and RTTY. Transceivers or number of stations on at once have not been announced but they are taking 4 Verticals and some RX antennas.

Logs will be uploaded to Clublog daily and QSL route will be announced after completion of the DXpedition.

More information available on the K5P webpage at: http://www.palmyra2016.org/index.html

His 17 meter signal is outstanding this Thursday afternoon. He is on 18.082 CW LONGPATH. Point the antenna at 253 degrees and he should be an easy catch. I got him this afternoon at 1854 UTC. Cleans up 17 meters I just need 12 and RTTY.

From the K5P web page:

"Update: 24-Jan @ 0330z.....Tonight at 0600z we'll be on 14155 SSB listening down at 14145 for EU.....we plan on taking down our antennas and stations starting Tuesday, Jan. 26.....we will be on the air for part of the day but must have everything packed up by nightfall.....we will continue our efforts to get every DXer in every part of the world in the log.....if you need us for an ATNO, you must be on the radio on the right band.....the Clublog Geographic propagation information is quite helpful......we hope propagation is good for the remaining days.....team is tired but happy to operate!.....keep checking back for remaining updates....."
