I guess Oh My just about covers it! On 40 I felt like a little kid in a candy shop. The idea of putting a tuner in the coax sure helped! Where I was just about getting out of my own yard I was working Europe Africa and South America and the Caribbean and even did some calling and was being called by European Stations. I was hearing better than I got out on 40. I heard stations that I could not work. I quit about 15 minutes early cause it looked like I worked the band out on 20 meters and 15 was pretty dead. 15 did not perform well this weekend as you can see by the number of QSOs and 10 did not work at all with the exception of 2 QSOs. Even 20 was "crappy" and did not open well and closed way to early. 20 starts to close when the sun goes down. With the Solar Flux at 78, the A at 23 and K at 4 those are not good numbers not even for the low bands. It would have been nice to see how the dipole performed if the low bands were good. Even though we thought that it was directional in in the same direction as the beam it did not seem to matter. I think that it's probably got large figure 8 lobs with a small null at 180 degrees to the direction. I did find that the dipole works best on 40 when I retract the elements on the SteppIR. It seems that having them out RF comes back into the shack via the SteppIR coax. Depending on the direction that the dipole is facing I have to reduce output power out when I send RTTY I just get a mark tone and no diddle.

I had some good runs on 20 meters and also on 15 and a pretty good one on 40. I was left with 75 unsent QTCs but that was offset by receiving 180 QTCs from other stations. I won't win this but should show good in the standings. I ran into a couple of other club members, I hope there were more out there that had some fun this weekend.

Boy Al you were right about N1MM+ not scoring the Contest properly. After looking over my score, I noticed N1MM+ did not score +1 point per RQTC.

I went back into the Log File and clicked Rescore Current Contest.
Came up with an additional 20000 points!

RAWR!

Soapbox : 20M was hot Sunday. 15M sucked Saturday but got better.
80M was iffy at best. About 8H BIC.
Still had fun though. Best run was Sunday for 1Hr at lunch. 60 Q's BUT I HAD TO BREAK FOR AN ERRAND!!!! Ughhh!

My old standby 80M was not too bright this one. 40M was good, 20M was great for me. Best run was for an hour Sunday, I had 60 Q's. Then I had to break for an errand (Club House setup with John Yusza).

About 8 hours BIC and thanks for the Mult on 20M & 40M Al!!!

Had a little snafu Saturday during this contest. The first QTC Exchange was a RQTC from LX7I. It was missing the header (I forgot to click it).

I knew it then but figured I could adjust the log later after reviewing my print screen... all the way up to the point where I accidentally erased it.

So I found LX7I Sunday on 20M and asked him for it. He did not know how to or didn't want to interrupt his run so he offered to email it to me to which I thought OK, maybe I'll just submit without the header and lose 1095 points.

Little did I know that Helmut Muller was one of the Ops at LX7I. Helmut is the WAE Contest Organizer. He sent me an email explaining that since I asked on-air, an email correction was within the rules or "I'm OK with it".

I suspect that Helmut may have given me a pass since he's (LX7I) claiming Top Dog in the Contest with 3.6 Million points (M/S HP).

Whatever, I'm happy he gave me a pass. Again, I didn't ask for an email correction but contacted LX7I on-air during the Contest. His Op offered an email correction.

YMMV!
