Full Version: A Radio Question For The Expert

With the New Radio Computer Online and the return of the 857-D yesterday, I'm getting N1MM configured for both radios.

I've always run each radio separately and as I need them just went in and changed the radio for the contest that I'm doing.

I know that you can have more than one radio set up in N1MM and I tried to get them both setup and running at the same time but didn't hit the right configuration for Radio 1 and Radio 2.

Does anyone know how to set this up? And what is the command to switch radios? I guess this is basically an SO2R setup though I would be using it more like this radio in this contest and that radio in that contest so I don't have to go in and change the settings all the time.

I also have a problem with digital and the small radio with N1MM. I found out that no matter how I define the digital setup in N1MM it always points to the 1000 MP which uses FSK rather than AFSK. I think that problem is going to take some thinking because even if I say no Digital and I open the Digital interface it's hearing the 1000MP.

First I'd like to get the SO2R figure out then maybe the other solution will fall in.

Hope someone has and answer here to this. If not I'll ask in the N1MM forum but I'm thinking one of the experts knows here.

Thanks
Thanks, looks confusing. I'll have to play with it to see if I can get it to work. Thought that the "switch" would switch radios but looks like I end up with two entry screens.

I probably would not be using two radios on HF, the idea was to have both radios set up and use the small Yaesu for 6/2/432 operation.

Got It! Thanks for the hints John. I may have (sorta) had it all along. Did not realize that there would be two windows open. I kept closing the second window. So now I have two Log Windows open, two band maps also. I just shove the unused window up to the second monitor if I have both radios on. If not just close the unused log and bandmap. Biggest thing that I didn't have was each radio needs to be a different number. The 1000 MP is radio 1 and 857-D radio 2. Also needed to check off SO2R in the setup.

Now the tough part, seeing if I can get RTTY and digital to work with the 857D and N1MM, that may not be possible.

Been so long I either forgot about it or checked and don't remember. I'll have to put it on the check up list.
