2014 CQ WPX Contest - K1PU - 05-25-2014 Well, not much chair time this year. Had a Wake and Funeral Friday night / Saturday morning. Didn't get in the chair until 4 PM. Didn't stay up past 10PM being shot from driving to Enfield twice and back with in 12 hours! Didn't get to see 80 meters open since I was asleep! Did manage a token 1 contact on 80. Here is the damage for the 2014 event START-OF-LOG: 3.0 LOCATION: CT CALLSIGN: K1PU CLUB: Meriden ARC CONTEST: CQ-WPX-CW CATEGORY-OPERATOR: SINGLE-OP CATEGORY-ASSISTED: NON-ASSISTED CATEGORY-BAND: ALL CATEGORY-MODE: CW CATEGORY-POWER: LOW CATEGORY-STATION: FIXED CATEGORY-TRANSMITTER: ONE CLAIMED-SCORE: 324795 OPERATORS: K1PU NAME: Mark Mokoski Band QSOs Pts WPX 3.5 1 1 0 7 44 165 19 14 219 554 171 21 139 343 94 28 15 38 11 Total 418 1101 295 Score: 324,795 K1PU N1API CQ WPX CW Results - N1API - 05-25-2014 This year it was hunt and peck all weekend for me. I took an "easy weekend" just working at leisure. It was just a nice weekend picking stations out of the pile. Some unusual prefixes out of Europe, and I ran across a few, spotted them and watched the whole world descend on them after I worked them. Bands were OK though 10 meters did not produce a lot of contacts and only 25 multipliers. Again 15 meters was the "money band". I found that China and Indonesia was workable in the morning when the band was open to Europe and at night when the band was open to Japan. On 15 meters I worked B4L at 1325 UTC on Sunday. That's 9:25 AM our time and 9:25 PM China time. BY5CD was also worked at 1605 UTC which is 12 PM / 12 AM. This year is seemed like there were a ton of Chinese stations on 15 meters Sunday evening. The JAs were also booming. Here are the results followed by the breakdown.
