Kenwood ts 2000 and wsjt-x program - KB1YFJ - 04-05-2022 I went and got the cord to connect my Kenwood to my computer, I went through the manual for the Kenwood and set up the Kenwood as the manual said. Then I set up the WSJT-X the way that instructions said, when I do the test to see if it will connect I get Hamlib error: Communication timed out. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? RE: Kenwood ts 2000 and wsjt-x program - N1API - 04-05-2022 Have you tried to ask on the WSJT-X Group IO list at https://wsjtx.groups.io/g/main ? You may find someone with that setup there. You will need more than a single cable to get the TS-2000 to work with one of these digital modes like FT8. I have a TS-2000 and a home brew interface box (my version of a rig blaster). I've included the block diagram for that. I've been using this since 2014 but recently rebuilt it and placed in a nicer enclosure. If you have a rig blaster, that would work too. There will probably be a segment in KK soon on this project. I've also included my settings for JTDX which is a fork from WSJT-x (uses the same settings). Drop me a note if you get stuck. RE: Kenwood ts 2000 and wsjt-x program - K1RCT - 04-10-2022 Yes, we use a SignaLink at the EOC. You will need the correct jumpers for your rig which is a simple operation if not already done. When I bought the signal link I paid to have them to do the jumper, it works without the WSJT program but I would really like to use it> RE: Kenwood ts 2000 and wsjt-x program - K1RCT - 04-10-2022 You only need to select the incoming and outgoing sound card within WSJT-X. I name the SignaLink sound card as Signalink TX and SignaLink RX in Windows settings. Makes it easier to ID the correct record and playback devices. PTT is done via RS-232 to USB converter. I set it up that way and still get hamlib error: communication timed out! I don't know what else to do. |
