The High Altitude Balloon Project
#1
Ray, KC1QLS, is leading MARC's high altitude balloon project.  In August of 2023, the project has had three tethered flights and two free flights.  The milestones reached so far are:
6 hours aloft
30,000 foot peak altitude
270 miles traveled

High Altitude Balloons are somewhat demanding.  Success requires a lot of attention to every detail and some luck.  Using what has been learned from the first two free flights, longer duration flights should become the norm.
